Diaper Styles

There are so many different styles of diapers. Here is a bit of information on each.
  1. All-in-One (AIO) Diapers - AIO diapers are the most similar to disposable diapers in terms of design, as they consist of a waterproof outer layer and an absorbent inner layer that are sewn together into one unit. AIO diapers are convenient and easy to use, as they require no additional inserts or covers.

  2. Pocket Diapers - Pocket diapers have a waterproof outer layer and an inner layer with a pocket that can be filled with an absorbent insert. The inserts can be easily removed for washing, and the pocket allows for customization in terms of absorbency levels.

  3. Prefold Diapers - Prefold diapers are rectangular in shape and consist of several layers of absorbent fabric, typically cotton or bamboo. They require a separate diaper cover for waterproofing and are folded and fastened around the baby's waist with pins or clips.

  4. Fitted Diapers - Fitted diapers are similar to AIO diapers in that they consist of an absorbent layer that is contoured to fit the baby's body, but they require a separate waterproof cover. Fitted diapers are typically made of more absorbent materials than AIO diapers, making them a good choice for heavy wetters.

  5. Hybrid Diapers - Hybrid diapers combine the best of both worlds, with a reusable outer shell that can be paired with either a disposable or a cloth insert. This allows parents to choose the level of convenience they prefer while still reducing their overall waste.

  6. Flat Diapers - Flat diapers are similar to prefolds in that they are made of a single layer of fabric, but they are not pre-folded and require more origami-like folding to fit properly. They require a separate waterproof cover for waterproofing.

  7. Contour Diapers - Contour diapers are similar to fitted diapers in shape, but they do not have elastic at the legs or waist, making them less secure than fitted diapers. They require a separate waterproof cover for waterproofing.

Overall, the type of cloth diaper you choose will depend on your personal preferences and needs, as well as those of your baby. It's a good idea to try out a few different types and brands to find the one that works best for you.
